Ticks
Not all ticks cause human disease, so it is important to properly identify the tick species when determining disease risk.
Color: Translucent brown unless engorged after feeding.
Size: 1/8 inch long. After feeding, the female is much larger (~1/2 inch long)
Feeding Habits: blood meal of the host (dogs, cats, rodents, nesting animals)
